Packer between the tractor wheels (RDAC/RDAJ)
The big packer wheels on Rapid A Combi and Jumbo version is a part of the main machine carrying a part of the machine weight. Patented links to the main frame gives active steering which reduce the turning radius on the headlands significantly.
The hydraulic fan is superior to a PTO-driven fan as it is not depending on the tractor engine rpm. Fan speed is displayed in the Control-Station and is easily adjusted using the tractor hydraulics. There is an acoustic warning if the fan rpm is deviating.
The seed rate is controlled with the help of soil radar so that it remains constant regardless of driving speed. During work, the soil radar measures speed and sends information to the Control-Station, which controls the hydraulic motors of the seed metering units. This always allows an exact amount of seed to be metered out in relation to driving speed. On Rapid A combi version the fertiliser is distributed with a hydraulic driven auger. This powerful system allows a distribution of up to 500 kg/ha.
Our user friendly Control-Station is standard on all Rapid drills. Many important functions are controlled and displayed in the Control-Station. It is easily mounted in the tractor cab.
Unique depth control – not sensitive to stones
One of the great advantages of the Rapid drill is its ingenious depth control system. Each wheel in the packer roll controls two seed coulters to a preset drilling depth, while at the same time applying careful reconsolidation. This takes place continuously, without any delay and with good contouring. The depth control system gives the seed coulters a smooth and stable passage even in stony conditions.
Rapid A is equipped with tramlining as standard. Hatches in the distributor head stop the air and seed flow in the tramlined rows
Half machine shut off for Rapid A, 6 and 8 metre
Electrical controlled half machine shut off is a standard feature on Rapid A 600-800.
The maintenance-free and practically indestructible rubber suspension absorbs impacts and collisions, which markedly increases the lifetime of discs and bearings and therefore of the entire drill. Thanks to the rubber suspension Rapid is a good choice also in stony conditions.
Sharp, serrated seed discs
The serrated discs (410 mm diameter) of special swedish V-55 hardened steel, work aggressively in the soil. The discs cut powerfully down into the soil and provide Rapid with its ability to drill in the most variable conditions
Large hopper with roll-top
The hopper has a modern design and a large size. The hopper of the 6 and 8 m Rapid A seed only versions has a capacity of 3300 litres. On the 4 m machine this hopper is 3000 litres.
For Rapid A Combi versions, the hopper has an adjustable wall to separate the seed from the fertiliser. The entire hopper can also be used for seed, in which case it has a total volume of impressive 6200 litres. The Rapid A Jumbo seed only versions use the same hopper as Rapid A Combi but without the adjustable wall.
OffSet wheels for consolidation
The packer wheels are placed in an offset position. This means that alternate wheels in the packer roll have been displaced 190 mm backwards on a separate axle. This creates a channel between alternate wheels through which soil and harvest trash can flow and pass out behind the seed drill. This prevents soil walling up in front of the wheel row, which is an advantage on very light soils. OffSet also allows drilling under much tougher conditions and gives the drill a lower draught requirement.
Each wheel on the Rapid is equiped with a scraper to reduce the risk of soil stucking on the wheels.
Disc- and pre-emergence markers
Rapid has disc markers that leave a clear mark also in min till conditions. The disc angle can be adjusted.
The pre-emergence marker is operated automatically when using the tramline function of the drill. The discs leave a clearly visible mark for following operations and can be adjusted for position and cultivation effect.
The following harrow creates a loose evaporation barrier that prevents surface crusting after heavy rain. Working angle and the pressure applied to the soil can be adjusted. This facility permits fine-tuning of the amount of cultivation achieved by the harrow, while at the same time allowing varying levels of crop residue to be dealt with. The harrow is positioned to run in-between the seed rows, so there is no risk of disturbing shallow-drilled seeds.
Combi drilling (Rapid A Combi version)
Placing seed and fertiliser at the same pass between every second seed row was developed in Scandinavian conditions 40 years ago. Still this method is one of the most precise, cost efficient and environmental correct way to distribute the whole or part of the fertiliser that your crop needs for its development. The depth of the fertiliser disc is stepless adjusted, and we recommend to place the fertiliser around 2-3 cm lower than the seed.
Front tools Rapid A Seed only version
The Crossboard Heavy toolbar makes the Rapid drill short and responsive. The turning circle on headlands is impressively small and it is easy to reverse the machine out of corners in the field.
Crossboard Heavy consists of hardened Crossboard tines with angled wearing plates to provide aggressive cultivation. Clods are crushed and the soil is leveled. The Crossboard tines do not draw up stones and is therefore suitable for stony fields.
Crossboard Light System Agrilla
Crossboard Light System Agrilla has its rightful place on lighter soils where thorough loosening is required or on soils where the surface is hard. The tines efficiently rip loose large amounts of material for the Crossboard to break up. System Agrilla efficiently breaks capillary transport of water to the surface, levels the field after ploughing and moves fine material down into the seedbed.
Crossboard Light System Disc
It is our most flexible front tool. It consists of two rows of intensively working and slicing discs (Ø 410 mm) that are slightly conical in shape. In addition, a row of Crossboard tines, levels the soil surface in tough conditions.

A Rapid equipped with System Disc copes very well with crop residues as all cultivation is carried out by discs.
Crossboard Light System Disc Aggressive
A perfect front tool for min till farming. The discs are positioned in an X-shaped pattern to ensure straight pulling behind the tractor. The discs are made of V-55 especially hardened Swedish steel and have individual rubber suspension. It will handle all conditions from stubble to ploughed land. The two rows of 450mm conical discs will aggressively cut the top layer of soil and mix straw, soil and residues very intensively. The fine tilth created ensures a good seed to soil contact, promoting the germination of volunteers and weeds.
