The maintenance-free and practically indestructible rubber suspension absorbs impacts and collisions, which markedly increases the lifetime of discs and bearings and therefore of the entire drill. Thanks to the rubber suspension Rapid is a good choice also in stony conditions.
Sharp, serrated seed discs
The serrated discs (410 mm diameter) of special Swedish V-55 hardened steel, work aggressively in the soil. The discs cut powerfully down into the soil and provide Rapid with its ability to drill in the most variable conditions.
Unique depth control
One of the great advantages of the Rapid drill is its ingenious depth control system. Each wheel in the packer roll controls two seed coulters to a preset drilling depth, while at the same time applying careful reconsolidation. This takes place continuously, without any delay and with good contouring. The depth control system gives the seed coulters a smooth and stable passage even in stony conditions.
Large hopper with roll-top
Rapid has approx. 1 m3 hopper size per metre working width, which gives you all the hopper capacity you need. With low filling height and a big open top, the machine is easy to fill, even with modest lifting equipment. For the combi models, the hopper is divided with a fully adjustable middle wall.
Our user friendly Control-Station is standard on all Rapid drills. Many important functions are controlled and displayed in the Control-Station. It is easily mounted in the tractor cab.
Gearboxes, used to control the seed rate, are step-less in their operation and can be fitted with electronic control for varying seed rate on the move. Metering of seed volumes down to 1 kg/ha can be achieved with good precision.
Drilling with only the left side of the drill can be achieved by a simple adjustment of the metering system. At the same time, the exact dose is maintained. This is very useful when e.g. drilling on irregularly shaped fields to avoid double drilling and crop lodging. On combi models, both fertiliser and seed metering can be shut off.
Tramline couplings are fitted as standard on all our Rapid 300-400C/S drills. Different tramlining widths can be achieved by shutting off different number of seed houses. Also the C-C distance can be adjusted. On combi machines the tramlining shuts off both seed and fertiliser. In the Control-Station you can choose between different programs depending on which interval you would like to tramline.
Offset wheels for consolidation
The packer wheels are placed in an offset position. This means that alternate wheels in the packer roll have been displaced 190 mm backwards on a separate axle. This creates a channel between alternate wheels through which soil and harvest trash can flow and pass out behind the seed drill. This prevents soil walling up in front of the wheel row, which is an advantage on very light soils. OffSet also allows drilling under much tougher conditions and gives the drill a lower draught requirement.
The scrapers efficiently keep the wheels clean, even under more difficult conditions.
Rapid has disc markers that leave a clear mark also in min till conditions. The disc angle can be adjusted.
The following harrow creates a loose evaporation barrier that prevents surface crusting after heavy rain.
Working angle and the pressure applied to the soil can be adjusted. This facility permits fine-tuning of the amount of cultivation achieved by the harrow, while at the same time allowing varying levels of crop residue to be dealt with.
The harrow is positioned to run in-between the seed rows, so there is no risk of disturbing shallow-drilled seeds.
System Agrilla Crossboard Heavy
The system consists of two rows of Agrilla tines in combination with a Crossboard row. System Agrilla has its rightful place on lighter soils where thorough loosening is required or on soils where the surface is hard. The tines efficiently rip loose large amounts of material for the Crossboard to break up. System Agrilla efficiently breaks capillary transport of water to the surface, levels the field after ploughing and moves fine material down into the seedbed.
Crossboard Heavy System Disc
Our most aggressive toolbar. It consists of two rows of intensively working and slicing discs (Ø 410 mm) that are slightly conical in shape. In addition, a row of Crossboard tines crushes clods and levels the soil surface. Compared to the Crossboard Light, this front tool works more efficiently in ploughed conditions.
Crossboard Light System Disc
It is our most flexible toolbar and the most popular choice. It consists of two rows of intensively working and slicing discs (Ø 410 mm) that are slightly conical in shape. In addition, a row of Crossboard tines, levels the soil surface in tough conditions. Compared to Crossboard Heavy this front tool has a better ability to let through crop residues.
The Crossboard Heavy toolbar makes the Rapid drill short and responsive. The turning circle on headlands is impressively small and it is easy to reverse the machine out of corners in the field.
Crossboard Heavy consists of hardened Crossboard tines with angled wearing plates to provide aggressive cultivation. Clods are crushed and the soil is levelled. The Crossboard tines do not draw up stones and is therefore suitable for stony fields.
System Disc Aggressive
It consists of two rows of intensively working and slicing discs (450 mm diameter) that are slightly conical in shape. System Disc is ideal for farms using min till where the fields are levelled. A Rapid equipped with System Disc copes very well with crop residues as all cultivation is carried out by discs.
System Disc Aggressive Crossboard Heavy
System Disc Aggressive Crossboard Heavy is our most aggressive front tool, perfect for working in tough ploughed or min till conditions. The diameter of the discs is 450 mm.
